Docking Procedure

  • Going In & Out of the Marina

    • Only Conversation regarding the boat​

    • Everyone is a lookout

    • Move Fenders & Push on Base Of Boat 

    • Fender / Pushing Demo Before Leaving

  • Exit Dock Procedure:

    • Upon Signal From Captain, Let Bow Line Off​

    • Captain will Let Stern Line Off

    • Move and Adjust Fenders As Needed

  • Returning To Dock Procedure:​

    • Spring Line & Bow Line Person: 

      • Stand Midship With Step Off Ladder

      • Step Onto Deck as Early as Possible

      • First Place Spring Line  1st cleat. Spring Line acts as break and spring that stops the boat moving forward

      • Do NOT pull on bow line. This will create problems and kick the stern away from the dock. "If anything", push on the base of the boat to push the bow out. This pushes the stern into the dock

    • Stern Line Person:

      • Step onto the dock, without getting into the way of Spring Line Person.​

      • Using the cleat, pull the stern into the dock

    • Everyone: ​

      • Move Fenders as needed to protect boat​

      • Use Dock Pole As Needed Push/Pull boat​​
