There is plenty of free guest parking available on the street and at the back of the parking lot. Look for the well marked signs.
Please avoid parking in areas reserved for marina permit holders only. In addition, do not park in the area designated for the restaurant and limited time. The marina does ticket violators! Please check you're parked correctly.
Race day event parking does fill up quickly. But we meet at the boat before this time.
It's best to park at the very end of the marina, this is near A Dock. (From the perspective of a boat entering the marina, A dock is the very first dock)
Yes, there are restrooms available both on the boat and at the marina for your convenience. It's highly encouraged that everyone to uses the marina restrooms before we depart, as they offer more spacious and comfortable facilities. The marina restrooms do require a key fob for access; this key fob is easy to find on the Indy and can be used to access the marina restrooms whenever needed.
The Indy is located on Dock A, Slip #37. There is a security gate for the dock. Text/Call Oliver Lundt at 425-943-0940 for him let you through the gate.
If you become a regular and trusted crew member the gate code maybe given to you. No one is to pass along the gate code.
No experience is needed. Your participation in sailing is not required. The Indy can be sailed single handed. However, if you want to learn sailing, you will be taught everything you need.
Read "Your Captain and Boat" to gain confidence in safety.
At minimum for docking only one person needs to step off with two lines. But this person needs to be an experienced with boats and confident. The alternative is to have two people who are not experienced step off the boat.
There are three main crew positions for sailing. The ideal number for easy sailing is three people. That said, switching between positions is easy and the Indy can be sailed single handed by the captain.
To summarized, docking safely is the primary concern. At min one experienced person or two people with no experience and have the physical capability of stepping on to the dock.
The max is probably 14 people, but RSVP is limited to 12 people incase extra people show up.
The spacing of the boat: 6 people on salon benches, 2 people at the helm, 4 -6 people deck or below deck.
Bringing beverages (alcohol or non-alcoholic) or snacks is always appreciated and enjoyable. But it's not expected. Bring what you want and enjoy. No need to over do it or over think it.
Alcohol is welcomed, except red wine. With a rocking boat it's inevitable to be spilled and permanently stain the deck. The captain will not be drinking alcohol.
Kids are welcomed! That said here are a few things to be aware.
#1) Children under the age of 12 must wear a lifevest. There are a few children's lifevest available. Please text message Oliver Lundt (425-943-0940) before hand to ensure these are available for your kids. Or bring your own children lifevests.
#2) Know your children's temperament. Sailing can be boring for kids, especially on low wind days. In general, children under 5 do not enjoy sailing from impertinence or board.
#3) Kids often become hungry after 2 or 3 hours. It's recommended to bring drinks and snacks for them.

Special exceptions may be allowed over time and building trust. In addition any dog with special exceptions need to be vetted for temperament for chewing, being around water, boat, and people. In addition, some crew members may have dog allergies.
